1849 PLC received construction permission for shopping and entertainment center in Chernivtsi

In December 2008 1849 PLC received permission to commence construction works on its project of shopping and entertainment centre. Draft design of the center developed by Ukrainian office of Polish company Art Engineering was approved by City Council of Chernivtsi.

Company Overview

1849 PLC is a Kyiv (Ukraine) based company specifically created to develop and manage shopping centres across Ukraine. The company is a joint venture with Warburg Pincus (USA), a global leader in Private Equity; with 40 years experience, having invested more than $29 billion.

1849 PLC first entered the Ukrainian market in October, 2005 forming a partnership with Apollo Real Estate Advisors, London. In April 2006 1849 PLC and Apollo Real Estate purchased Pyramida Shopping Centre in Kyiv.

1849 PLC has 3 regional shopping centres under development. The projects are located in the cities of Poltava, Chernivtsi and Rivne. The projects will be between 25,000 and 50,000 sqm GBA, each centre will be anchored by well-known international hypermarket.

Our long term strategy is simple; to use our "first mover" advantage in developing European Style Shopping Malls and USA Style strip-centres in regional Cities across Ukraine.
